Old Country Store thanks local officers with free lunch
JACKSON, Tenn. — As a “thank you” to Jackson and Madison County’s finest, a local restaurant served officers Friday with a free lunch.
Old Country Store at Casey Jones Village in Jackson offered the free lunch for Jackson police and members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
Organizers behind this day of thanks talked to WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News about how grateful they are just to say thanks.
“Total strangers are going up and thanking officers for their service and their sacrifice to the community, and getting to thank them ourselves has been really, really impactful to us,” said Brooks Shaw, general manager of the Old Country Store.
Shaw says he came up with the idea Friday morning after seeing what happened in Dallas.
