Weather Update: 10:00 AM Friday

Currently temps are in the upper 80s to low 90s but the humidity is making it feel like we’re in the triple digits. Spotty, light showers have pushed through the southern half of the area early this morning, but nothing widespread. Clouds continue to build into the area ahead of the front. Showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon.

Today, temps jump back into the mid 90s but the feel like conditions return to dangerous levels. The forecast heat index values are looking to soar back into the triple digits. It’ll be a toasty afternoon!

The threat for severe weather is still relatively low this afternoon but a strong storm is possible, mainly in the northern half of the area. As the cold front advances our way it does stall out across the region. The main threats are strong wind and heavy rain within a thunderstorm.

Hit and miss showers stay in the forecast all weekend long. They won’t be wash out days but keep the rain gear around in case you get stuck in a passing rain shower or thunderstorm.
