Scattered showers possible Sunday
Weather Update: 9:00 PM Saturday
Currently the overcast skies have kept temperatures a tad cooler. It is still humid so it does still feel sticky and warm. Temps are sitting in the 70s and shouldn’t fall a whole lot more overnight. Scattered showers and thunderstorms have continued across the area this afternoon and we keep the chance for rain in the forecast tonight as well.
Tonight temps look to fall into the upper 60s to low 70s. Scattered overnight rain and thunderstorms are likely. For the most part, conditions will remain mostly cloudy to overcast overnight. The stalling frontal system continues to drop south. There isn’t a threat for strong storms but we could be dealing with scattered showers as the front continues to sit in the region.
Afternoon temps tomorrow reach back into the mid and upper 80s. The humidity and mostly cloudy skies stick around so it will still feel warm and muggy. The majority of the rain Sunday looks to stay farther south, along the TN/MS line but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t see a scattered shower anywhere.
We’ll start the work week with rain chances and temps in the 80s but we have drier conditions by mid week and the heat returns. Temps jump back into the low to mid 90s by the middle of this week.
