Public Relations chairman, Rickey Brown said “I’m sure our president will be opening up a lot of ideas tomorrow for whatever citizens got on their mind we would like to hear it”.

Rickey brown has been helping plan for the forum.

“Many organizations but especially the local NAACP branch continues to reach out to do positive uplifting things in this community” Brown said.

NAACP members say that Monday’s meeting will be an open community conversation for community members to come out, and discuss recent events that have happened over the past week. Thye will also be able to bring up whatever is on their minds.

Some of the major events have been unarmed black men being killed by law enforcement and also the killings of police officers during a peaceful protest in Dallas.

Although those recent incidents are tragic the NAACP is encouraging west Tennesseans to get together to talk and share with each other.

“There’s so many wonderful Christian people in this area that are about doing the right thing” Brown explained.

The forum is located at the NAACP headquarters in Downtown Jackson and it begins at 7pm. Branch president, Harrell Carter will be moderating the forum.
