Go cups almost good to go in Bay St. Louis

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) – Those attending the Second Saturday Frida Fest weren’t allowed to travel the streets of Old Town Bay St. Louis with portable adult beverages. But they soon will be.

After more than a month of public hearings and discussions, The Sun Herald reports the city council voted Tuesday to allow alcoholic beverages to be transported in to-go cups in the city’s thriving downtown. The ordinance will take effect in about a month.

For Slidell, Louisiana, residents David and Robin Korba, the new ordinance is a welcome change for Bay St. Louis.

Robin Korba said she was concerned the ordinance was not going to pass. Korba said she was disappointed that it didn’t pass sooner.

The Second Saturday festival paid homage to Mexican artist and style icon Frida Kahlo.
