JMC school board holds work session, discusses updates on schools
JACKSON, Tenn.-The Jackson-Madison County School Board met for a work session, Monday night and discussed updates on schools and if they will be ready when school begins in August.
Superintendent Verna Ruffin said all projects, including “Vision 2020” updates should be finished by August 1.
However, she said there are a few projects that may spill over into the new school year.
Also at the meeting, the school board discussed plans for selecting a new superintendent, saying they plan to wait until the new board members are elected.
“I just think it would be wise to have some conversation about what we are looking for,” said school board member Bob Alvey.
The school board also talked about some of the negotiations regarding Lane College using some of the facilities at Jackson Central-Merry
High School.
The board will make official decision during Thursday’s meeting.
