Woman found shot in truck identified; suspect arrested
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) – A 26-year-old Oak Grove woman found shot in her truck Saturday night has been identified.
The Hattiesburg American reports Forrest County Deputy Coroner Jonathan Nobles identified the victim as Loretta Dewberry.
Hattiesburg police spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler says police have a suspect in custody, 25-year-old Taiwan Jermaine Blakely of Hattiesburg, who turned himself in to police on Sunday.
Nobles said the manner of the woman’s death will be determined once an autopsy has been completed.
Blakely has been charged with murder.
Online jail records do not list an attorney for him.
