Community comes together for prayer at USJ

JACKSON, Tenn.-A crowd of more than 100 gathered in northwest Jackson, Wednesday night to pray for the city and its people.

The Campbell Street Church of Christ’s weekly prayer meeting was held on the campus of the University School of Jackson,
where everyone joined together for food and community fellowship.

Organizers said they hope these prayer meetings bring the whole community together.

“I hope they take away just a sense of community, that we are one community, we’re not north Jackson, we’re not south Jackson, east Jackson, west Jackson, we’re one community, we’re one city and that we are for each other and we want to help each other,” said Danny Sorrell, lead minister of Campbell Street Church of Christ.

There are two more of the weekly prayer meetings scheduled. Next Wednesday’s gathering will be held at North Side High School.
