Madison Co. to Tennessee All-Stars
OAKFIELD, Tenn — The Madison County 13 and Under All Star Team recently won their state championship and earned the title of the Tennessee All Star Team. They will compete in Apopka, Florida in the Little League South Eastern Regional Championship. If they win Regional’s, they will compete in the World Series.
Both the players and coaches are very excited for their opportunity.
“This is such an honor,” said Steve Jones, head coach of Tennessee All-Stars. “None of these kids have even been to the state tournament before. So for us to win the district tournament was a big thing, to go on and win the state and represent Tennessee, such an honor.”
“It’s very exciting, just mind blowing,” said Malcolm Merriwether, third baseman. “I look forward to just playing different teams out of different states and trying to get the win.”
