Vicksburg students to get laptops next week
VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) – Vicksburg Warren School District students are getting new laptops.
Students and parents from all three high schools – Vicksburg, Warren Central and River City Early College – can pick up Lenovo Chromebooks, a type of laptop that uses Google’s Chrome operating system, at their respective high schools next week.
The Vicksburg Post reports students must pay a $25 technology fee to receive the computer. Director of Education Technology Wade Grant says the fee helps with upkeep and maintenance.
Students and parents also must present proper identification and two current proofs of residency in the parent’s name, like a utility bill, driver’s license, voter ID or license plate receipt, to receive a Chromebook.
Distribution begins July 26 at Warren Central, July 27 at Vicksburg and July 29 at River City.
