Officers with city of Martin, UTM practice active shooter response
MARTIN, Tenn. — City police officers and those with the University of Tennessee at Martin teamed up Tuesday to prepare for a worst-case scenario.
Officers from both departments took part in active shooter training. The tactical exercise took place at Martin Elementary School.
Trainers say it was a great opportunity for the two agencies to work together as one team in an emergency setting.
The training was part of an eight-hour training session during which the officers were all re-certified with Tasers and pepper spray.
