Dream Center hosts art sale to raise money for field trip

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Dream Center shelter in Jackson, which aims to help women in need, put on an art show Friday.

Dream Center Portraits of YouthMoms and their children painted their own pictures and baked sweets for the “Portraits of Youth” art exhibit, all in an effort to raise money for a fun field trip before the school year starts.

They had a total of 73 works of art, all of which are for sale at any price the purchaser wants to donate.

There is still art for sale. You can stop by the Dream Center, located at 49 Old Hickory Boulevard, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

“It really lets people get to their own hearts, you know?” Dream Center Executive Director Gail Gustafson said. “You look at some of their pictures and you’re going to see what’s in the heart of the people that live at the Dream Center.”
