Representative Jimmy Eldridge, R-Jackson has been serving as the state representative for the 73rd district for 14 years. He said his work is far from over.

“I want to continue to do the good things we’re doing in the general assembly and that I’ve done is continue to improve the healthcare in Tennessee, and improve the education in Tennessee” Eldridge said.

Rep. Eldridge said health care and education are two of his main concerns for the people of Tennessee.

“It’s very important that we take a strong stance and support our teachers, support our educators, support our health care workers, support our state employees that work in our community” he said.

Candidate Glen Gaugh disagrees with Eldridge’s views on healthcare.

Gaugh said we need to go back to when people could choose their own health care.

“There were options whether its private or through their employer and it was actually affordable but we don’t do that by continuing to dig the same whole we’ve been digging.” Gaugh said.

Gaugh explained he is seeking the House seat for district 73 because he’s concerned about the state of Tennessee and the state of our nation.

The Madison county native said it’s time for a change in office.

“I represent that change I represent someone who is not going to work for the governor or for the leadership. I’m going to work for the people of Madison county.” Gaugh said.

Early voting continues through July 3oth.

Election day is  August 4th.
