Henry Co. sheriff urges driver to ‘park smart’

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn.-One West Tennessee sheriff’s department is reminding drivers to ‘park smart’ to avoid having their vehicles broken into or stolen.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Department started posting signs Wednesday in different neighborhoods reminding people to ‘park smart’.
The sheriff said in the last 30 days they have had at least 12 car break-ins, with two resulting in car theft.

“But the ‘Park Smart’ is basically, secure your baubles, lock the vehicle, and take the keys with you. It’s just some real basic knowledge and that’s what we are trying to urge people,” said Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew.

Sheriff Belew said undercover patrols are also being increased, as is the use of their mobile security camera.
