Police say I-40 pursuit started with test drive at Jackson auto dealer

JACKSON, Tenn. — What started as a test drive led to a pursuit on I-40 Wednesday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m., police say a man in his 20s drove away from Serra Chevrolet in a white 2015 Cadillac Escalade.

Jackson police say he took off before the sales person could get into the passenger side of the vehicle for the test drive.

With the help of OnStar, officers were able to determine the pricey SUV was heading west toward Memphis.

Police say the vehicle was recovered shortly afterward around mile marker 30 in Fayette County.

Officers say the suspect fled and that no one has been arrested.
