Lowe’s to build $100M facility in Tennessee, create 600 jobs
COOPERTOWN, Tenn. (AP) – Home improvement retailer Lowe’s is building a new fulfillment center in Robertson County, creating 600 jobs.
Construction on the $100 million facility is set to begin immediately at the 110-acre site in Coopertown, about 25 miles northwest of Nashville.
The company says the facility will ship orders directly to customers and to stores.
When completed by the end of 2018, the facility will cover 1.1 million square feet, or the equivalent of 22 football fields under one roof.
Lowe’s has 60 stores in Tennessee, employing 9,000 people.
Gov. Bill Haslam joined company and local officials in making the announcement in Coopertown on Wednesday.
The governor noted that Lowe’s joins more than 16,000 transportation, logistics and distribution establishments operating in the state.
