UPDATE: East Jackson shooting still under investigation

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Wednesday night shooting in East Jackson that sent three people to the hospital is still under investigation, according to the Jackson Police Department.

NorthParkwayJPD responded to a shooting at 28-L Oakridge Drive shortly after 8 p.m. While officers were responding, two gunshot victims, a 47-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle, according to police.

Police said a third gunshot victim, a 21-year-old man also traveling by private vehicle, was stopped by officers on North Parkway then transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The two male gunshot victims were treated and have since been released. The female victim was transported to a Memphis hospital where she is in stable condition.

According to police, based on findings in the preliminary investigation, the three victims are related and the shots occurred during a family dispute on Oakridge Drive. Police are not searching for a suspect since the investigation shows that one of the shooting victims initiated the dispute and at least one fired the shots.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and they ask any witnesses to contact the police department with any information at (731) 425-8400.
