Student receive scholarships from local manufacturer

JACKSON, Tenn. — Local students are getting a little help paying for their higher education thanks to a local manufacturer. A few dozen children of Delta Faucet Company employees received $1,000 scholarships this afternoon. This year the company gave away an all time high, $76,000 during a luncheon where parents and students celebrated their accomplishments.

“Instead of just sending a check, and its so cold and impersonal, to see the kids to meet the kids and to congratulate the kids because it is a lot of work to go to school,” Plant Manager Mike Rohlwing said.

Students will be attending colleges all across the state. The Delta Faucet company has been giving away scholarships for more than 20 years.
