The Dream Center receives special donations for women, children at the center
JACKSON. Tenn.-Just in time for the start of school, a special donation today for the women and children who call The Dream Center home for now.
The Jackson Firefighters Association made a donation of their own, dropping off supplies they will need before heading back to class.
“With our fundraisers we look to donate back to our community and the dream center’s been a place that we felt needed a handout and we’re there to give it to them,” said Tony Murdaugh, president of the Jackson Firefighters Association.
Also, Universal Beauty donated school uniforms to the children at the center. But it was not just clothes that the students received.
“Me and my husband felt that they didn’t, on top of everything they worry about they don’t need to worry about the uniforms, and they can send their children to school,” said Lisa Caputi, owner of Universal Beauty.
In all, the school donated 26 full sets of uniforms.
The Dream Center, which is located on Old Hickory Boulevard Extended, provides help and housing for women and mothers faced with homelessness.
