Weather Update: 9:30 PM Saturday
Things are quiet for the most part across West Tennessee and it has been this way since early afternoon. Currently conditions are calm across the area and they should remain that way as we go overnight as well. We’re not in the clear just yet though, more rain is still likely this evening as the cold front begins to stall across the region. Mostly cloudy skies and muggy conditions persist this evening with current temps sitting in the upper 70s.
Tonight there is a slight chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm. For the most part things will remain quiet with cloudy skies. Temperatures will fall back down into the low 70s and a few areas could see the upper 60s.
Tomorrow, temps should be just a few degrees warmer that we were today and with increasing moisture in region, it’s going to feel up to 10 degrees warmer. Some areas could feel close to the 100 degree mark. Scattered afternoon showers are possible again tomorrow. Strong winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning would be the main threats with some of the developing thunderstorms.
This week temps rebound back into the low to mid 90s to start the month of August. It is possible that heat advisories are needed later on this week. The afternoon hot and humid conditions allow for pop-up showers likely every day this week.
