Comic book fans enjoy last day of Comic-con in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. —  Sunday was family day at the Jackson Comic and Anime show in downtown.

Screen Shot 2016-08-07 at 6.03.40 PMKids got into the Carl Perkins Civic Center for free to explore all the show had to offer. For the second year, comic books and other collectors items were available to purchase from vendors. Some folks took the opportunity to dress up as their favorite comic book characters.

“Just getting the comic books, all the action figures and all the cool toys and stuff,” comic lover Landen Busby said about the decision to visit the event.Screen Shot 2016-08-07 at 6.04.03 PM

“I think everyone had a good time,” Comic-con organizer Mark Ballard said. “So the thing we try to promote really is its all family friendly, fun for kids. And inexpensive enough to where families to bring people out and have a good time.”

The event organizer also said geek culture is becoming popular,  so he expects next years show to attract even more comic book fans.
