Weather Update – 10:30 p.m. Tuesday

Dry conditions are expected to continue overnight. With a few clouds possible, temperatures will drop to the lower and middle 70s by sunrise Wednesday morning. Isolated areas of fog will be possible with calm winds. An oncoming cold front is forecast to bring more widespread showers this weekend and a bit more relief from the heat!

WEDNESDAY
Like today, conditions will begin dry with sunny skies tomorrow allowing for a quick warm up to the upper 80s and lower 90s. Some areas may even be able to reach the middle 90s if rain can hold off long enough for temps to get there. Incidentally, scattered thunderstorms will be possible from the later hours of the morning into the afternoon and early evening. Once again, the main concerns will be with locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds in thunderstorms that develop, but severe weather is not likely.

REST OF THE WORKWEEK
The low pressure system sitting over the southeastern United States will continue to cause scattered thunderstorms during Thursday and Friday afternoons as it moves northwest toward the Mid-South. A cold front will begin to approach West Tennessee toward the end of the week increasing the chance for rain in the region. It’s still a bit too early to say exactly how much rain we could get this weekend but the potential exists for a significant amount in excess of 2″ across the area.
