TBI agent’s former police department remembers slain officer

MILLINGTON, Tenn. — Before Agent De’Greaun Frazier worked for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, he spent six years as an officer with the Millington Police Department.

Millington officers patrol the city Wednesday with a heavy heart after former officer for the department, TBI Special Agent De’Greaun Frazier died during an undercover drug sting.

As a ribbon is tied to the door in his memory, Graves said Frazier spent years developing his skill set. Frazier was hired on as an officer, had a dog with a K-9 unit, and worked with the local DEA task force in Millington, serving also as a detective.

It was just weeks ago agent Frazier walked through the doors of the department to see his former co-workers and give his expertise as an agent.

“Not only the friendship is going to be missed, but the professional relationship that we had built through him is going to be missed,” Graves said.

Graves said agent Frazier will leave a legacy with the department and the Volunteer State.

“He lived here in Shelby County, was doing work in Madison County, and that was the type of person he was,” Graves said. “He wanted to do what he could do to make our community and ultimately the state a better place.”

Officials in Millington said local pastors and critical response teams came in to serve the 45-member department and help them through their time of loss.
