Community prepares for upcoming “Blue Strong” event
JACKSON, Tenn.-Community leaders came together Thursday night to talk about ways they can show their support of the men and women in blue.
The “Blue Strong” committee is working to turn Jackson and Madison County ‘blue’ before the third annual “Blue Strong” event in January,
they are encouraging local businesses, churches and families to light up the city this winter, as a show of support.
“We all need to call 911 in the case of an emergency and they are coming. And they are going to come in the force required, and we can
rest assured to that. So, I mean this is a way that we can say ‘thanks’ to them,” said Jimmy Hawks, with the “Blue Strong” committee.
Organizers said they want everyone to turn on their blue lights starting December 1, leading into the January 10 “Blue Strong” event.
