Jackson manufacturer officially changes name
JACKSON, Tenn. — Toyota Boshoku Tennessee LLC cut the ribbon Thursday outside its plant in Jackson, symbolizing a name change.
“We hope that it’ll be a new beginning for our team members for the purpose of better quality,” Sales/Purchasing Manager Bruce Niven said.
The facility, formerly known as ARJ Manufacturing, employs about 280 people.
The Jackson Chamber said our local economy is functioning well. In June, the state announced General Cable Industries Inc. planned to add about 50 jobs in Jackson. In December, the state announced Berry Plastics would bring between 70 and 80 new positions to Madison County.
“There are jobs available in this community for folks that are willing to work,” Jackson Chamber President/CEO Kyle Spurgeon said.
Spurgeon said the Toyota Boshoku Tennessee LLC name change is good for the city. “When you’re able to talk about Toyota, Kellogg’s, Toyota Boshoku being located here, it validates us as a location, one of the country’s premier locations for manufacturing,” he said.
Niven said Toyota Boshoku Tennessee LLC looks forward to being in Jackson for a long time. “Over the next couple of years, we hope to increase the volume of business that we have here and hopefully to add new team members in the future,” he said.
Spurgeon said Toyota Boshoku Tennessee LLC is one of seven Japanese-based companies in Jackson.
The Jackson Chamber said our location along Interstate 40 and quality workforce make the city an attractive option for companies looking to locate here.
