MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Although rain was in the forecast, the free concert known as “Barnfest 2016” had Snider Farms in Denmark filled with thousands of lawn chair and folks ready for praise and worship.

“It’s going to be fun rain our shine,” said volunteer Julie Mills. “Come out and play in the water puddles, who cares.”

“It’s just a good time to be together, grow as a family grow as a church and good christian fun,” Barnfest attendee  Jessica Littlejohn said.

Saturday three christian artist rocked the stage, putting on a free show for the community.

“This a true community event,” Evangelist Scott Dawson said. “Hundreds of churches, a lay of people that have come together with one purpose. Its going to be great entertainment, great music and then ultimately so you can hear the greatest message of all time.”

More than 200 volunteers and donations from the community helped make Barnfest possible for second year.

“I’m out here the give my support, my prayers, to lead to lead somebody to Christ,” volunteer Marilyn Price said. “Whatever I need to do for Jesus that’s what I’m here for, and to here some good music.”

“And it doesn’t matter your color, it doesn’t matter your religion to come and have fun,” Mills said.Screen Shot 2016-08-20 at 8.30.08 PM

Although the concert may have been the big draw, the youngest attendees say Barnfest is about so much more than music.

“I think its pretty cool that we get to come out here and praise the lord for what hes done for us,” attendee Addie Sterling said.

“I think that it’s going to impact a lot of young kids to come out and praise to Lord and tell other people about him,” attendee Hasting Woody said.

Before the final performance by “For King and Country” nearly 4,000 guest filled Snider farms.

Barnfest organizers say through donations they hope they can continue to have Barnfest as a free event to maximize their outreach efforts.
