Local church takes donations to send to Louisiana

JACKSON, Tenn — The Louisiana flooding has caused one local church to help out.

Campbell Street Church of Christ’s local outreach are asking for cleaning and hygiene supplies as well as food.

One of their church members had access to a truck.

The church has been asking people to stop by and accomplish their goal of filling it up and has been in touch with baton rouge and they are needing a lot of supplies.

Organizers said all of the stores people would normally go to are damaged by the water so there’s no place to buy what they need.

“We don’t care what denomination churches it doesn’t matter,” organizer Keith Groves said. “This is about human lives and people that need stuff and we can show our support by helping them out any way we can, so if this little bit of stuff that we can get helps, that’s God at work.”

Organizers said they will be sending the truck down to Louisiana in the next few days.
