Man who downloaded child porn at father’s home sentenced
GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – A man who downloaded child pornography at his father’s Perkinston home has been sentenced to prison for more than seven years.
The Sun Herald reports Chief U.S. District Judge Louis Guirola Jr. sentenced William Woodward to 87 months in prison Friday.
The judge also fined the 39-year-old Woodward $10,000 and ordered restitution of $2,500, federal court records show.
Woodward came under investigation through the work of a cybercrime task force that monitors online file-sharing networks.
Woodward has been held with no bond since Feb. 12.
An indictment alleged he’d been downloading child porn since July 1, 2015.
