SUV Slams into House in East Jackson, Sends mother and kids to hospital

IMG_0162JACKSON, Tenn.– A father picks up the pieces and thinks about what could have happened.

Late Wednesday afternoon, his wife with his six kids in the car, ages ranging from 2 to 12 years old, lost control of her SUV along Christmasville Road and ended up slamming into the side of a home.

Once the car left the road, it hit a tree, leaving a trail of debris all the way down until its final destination, which was the side of someone’s house.

The husband  said a car pulled out in front of his wife and sent her and his children flying off the road.

They were taken to the hospital but the extent of their injuries are unknown. There was one person inside the home but she was not injured.

But neighbors said, it was a scary thing for them to see.

“I couldn’t imagine. I only have one and I couldn’t imagine.” Melissa Childress said.

Childress heard what happened and rushed to check on her grandmother, who lives across the street.

“I just came over here to make sure everything was OK and that our house hadn’t been hit and that she was OK.” Childress said.

But when she saw the scene, her heart dropped.

“I felt really bad because, it was great because it didn’t look like a whole lot of structural damage but still scary for those inside the house and inside the vehicles.”

She said traffic can be hectic and dangerous on that stretch of Christmasville Road.

“They do go really fast on this road, they really do. It goes from four lanes over the interstate and it comes down to two lanes and you have all the school traffic in the mornings, it is a very heavy traveled road.”
