2 Weakley Co. homes destroyed by separate fires in 24-hour period
WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — Two houses in Weakley County have been destroyed in separate fires within a 24-hour period, according to the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s department does not believe there is any connection between the two fires.
In the most recent blaze, a home in the 1600 block of Union Church Road burned down Monday afternoon after the owner returned and saw flames coming from an upstairs window.
No one was injured, but the house was a total loss.
Pillowville, Gleason and McKenzie fire departments along with McKenzie EMS all responded to the fire around 1 p.m.
On Sunday night, a house in the 6500 block of Highway 190 was also destroyed in a fire, according to the sheriff’s office.
Dispatch received a 911 call about the fire around 8 p.m. Sunday. The owners were not home at the time.
The Como, Palmersville and Dresden fire departments all responded.
