2nd person charged with attempted murder in Crockett Co. shooting
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — A second person is now facing an attempted murder charge in the recent shooting of a man in Friendship.
Roderick Coman, 35, of Jackson has been charged with attempted first-degree murder in the Aug. 17 shooting of 29-year-old Jeffrey Long, according to court documents.
Deputies responded just after 4 a.m. to a home in the 7400 block of Highway 189 where Long had been shot multiple times, according to an affidavit.
The documents say Long was able to tell deputies Coman was the person who shot him.
Long recovered from his injuries and on Aug. 20 was able to speak with a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation special agent and again identified Coman as the person who shot him, according to the affidavit.
He also reportedly told the agent that Katie Vaile, 26, of Bells was also there and that she drove Coman from the scene. He also told them Vaile drove Long to his residence before the shooting took place.
The TBI announced Aug. 24 that Vaile had been charged with attempted first-degree murder in the case.
