Andrew Jackson Marathon organizers give $33K to Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center

JACKSON, Tenn. — Organizers of the state’s oldest marathon gave a big gift Tuesday to a local nonprofit to help end child abuse in West Tennessee.

Carl Perkins Center checkThe Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse received the donation of over $33,000.

The donation comes from the proceeds of the 2016 Andrew Jackson Marathon back in April, which is hosted by the Bicentennial Exchange Club.

“The National Exchange Club, one of their biggest projects is the prevention of child abuse, and I can’t think of a better cause,” said Michael McMahon, former president of the Bicentennial Exchange Club.

Planning is already underway for the 2017 Andrew Jackson Marathon.
