Crime scene investigators learn crime solving using the latest technology
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.-Law enforcement agencies from across the area converge in West Madison County to brush up on their crime solving skills using some of the latest technology.
More than 30 officers from more than a dozen agencies across the state met at the Madison County Fire Department Training Center to learn new crime scene investigation techniques. Organizers said cutting edge technology is allowing officers to solve criminal cases in new ways.
“We always like to show them a different light sources, different technology that’s out there, that’s available to them now, especially with the mobile applications settings. There’s a lot of different mobile apps now that we’re starting to use in the field that are better assisting us,” said Dan Anselment, training consultant with the UT National Forensic Academy.
Some of the skills taught included, digital photography, crime scene sketching and diagramming and collecting DNA evidence .
