U of M Lambuth Psychology Club students hold event to ‘Stomp Out Stigmas’
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local student group set out to “Stomp Out Stigmas” Thursday afternoon during an event on the University of Memphis- Lambuth Campus.
Members of the school’s psychology club gathered in the quad for the family-friendly event meant to promote community and increase mental health awareness.
Along with fun activities and t-shirts, the students also offered information on the dangers of stereotypes.
“If we can decrease stigma and actually get people into therapy or into treatment, then they can fulfill their life and their dreams,” said Alaina Taylor, president of the Psychology Club at
U of M-Lambuth.
The Psychology Club told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they hope to make this a yearly event.
