Henry Co. woman ordered to repay $6,000 in TennCare benefits
HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman must repay the state more than $6,000 in a plea agreement resulting from a TennCare fraud charge.
Amber Kirtley, 36, of Paris was ordered in a Sumner County plea agreement to pay TennCare $6,327, according to a release from the Office of Inspector General.
She also is prevented from applying for TennCare.
Kirtley was charged in December with TennCare fraud and theft of services on accusations of fraudulently obtaining TennCare benefits by falsely claiming her minor child lived with her, according to the release.
“Part of our mission is to help preserve the integrity of the TennCare program,” Inspector General Manny Tyndall said in the release. “We do so by vigorously prosecuting anyone who uses or attempts to use the program for unlawful purposes.”
Anyone can report suspected TennCare fraud by calling 1-800-433-3982 or by visiting the Office of Inspector General website and following the prompts that read “Report TennCare Fraud.”
