Contestants compete in 15th annual “Country Showdown”
JACKSON, Tenn.-An event held Saturday brought out contestants who competed in the preliminary round for the “Country Showdown.”
West Tennesseans filled “The Ned” in downtown Jackson, who came out to support contestants. This is the 14th year for the competition, sponsored by radio station WYN 106.9 FM.
Auditions started in July and led up to Saturday’s 15 finalists. Judges will decide who will go on to the next round. Saturday’s winner will receive a $500 cash prize and a weekend getaway to Nashville. Also, the winner will advance to the Mid-South regionals.
