Woman in custody on assault, theft charges after photo airs on news

JACKSON, Tenn. — With the help of a WBBJ viewer, a woman is in custody on shoplifting and assault charges.

Vivian Nicole Gray went before a judge Monday.

Last October, authorities say Gray shoplifted from Dollar General and Fashion Today, a store on Carriage House Drive, later attacking an employee who tried to stop her.

We aired a surveillance image from that incident, and with an anonymous tip Gray was arrested and charged with theft and simple assault.
