Lexington sneaks away with team of the week
LEXINGTON, Tenn — The Lexington Tigers last Friday led the North Side Indians late in the fourth 14-7, looking to grab their second win on the season. The Indians would mount a drive and march down and score with minutes remaining. That’s when the Tigers defense stood up strong and stopped the Indians as they tried to win the game with a two point conversion. A win much needed for Lexington as they faced going 1-3 on the season early on. Head coach Bryant Hollingsworth talked about how his teams learned from early losses and matured over the weeks.
“We had to change our mentality and our mentality of big red football is to go out and get people and that’s what we got to continue to do,” said Hollingsworth. “We have a great group of young men and you know we just talk about adversity all the time and just how you react to it and we try to react in a positive way that’s going to better ourselves and better our program.”
The Tigers will get set to take on Chester County this Friday.
