JACKSON, Tenn. — A local nail salon is shut down after a car crashes through the front of their store.

CE80F56A-0E90-4581-BC1C-8DCDD1F1BF09The scene unfolded just minutes after the Polished Nail Salon opened up Thursday morning. The Jackson Police Department says they responded at 9:30 a.m.

Police say no one was hurt in the crash.

“It was a typical morning — going to work and just getting ready and waiting for my appointment, and all of a sudden I was looking at the magazine and all of a sudden I head a crash,” employee Mai Nugyen said.

Police said the driver lost control of the car, jumped the curb and drove straight through the front of the store, right where an employee was sitting.

“I was trying to run, and as I ran things were falling down and I wasn’t even aware of what else was happening,” Nugyen said.

One employee said she was getting ready in the back when she heard a loud crash.

“I looked up and a vehicle was coming into the store,” Cheyenne Carroll said. “Another one of our workers was sitting kind of close to the front, and she started screaming.”

Now employees are working to clean up, assess the damage and move forward.

“It’s a shock to look at. It’s kind of scary,” Carroll said. “Again, nobody was hurt, and that’s all that’s important. Hopefully we can get back to work soon.”

Polished Nail Salon says that if you can go to the downtown location for any appointments, they will take all the north location clients until they reopen. They said they have no idea how long it will take to get the store back up and running.
