Man charged with assaulting girlfriend in wheelchair

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man has been arrested on accusations of attacking his girlfriend while she was in a wheelchair.

According to court documents, William Thompson’s girlfriend told police she was in a wheelchair due to injuries from a car accident.

She said they were arguing over a cell phone when Thompson grabbed her and “tossed her around.” The incident reportedly happened in October 2015.

Thompson is charged with simple assault.
