Jackson Police Department looking to hire experienced officers

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department looks to bring on new officers with experience.

The department is offering up to a $3,000 signing bonus for POST-certified officers with at least one year of experience. Salaries range from $36,000 to $43,000 a year.

The department says openings are available in specialty units including SWAT and criminal investigations.

“There are numerous opportunities for you to expand your career and to get training and become diverse in whatever field that you so choose,” said Lt. Derick Tisdale, the department’s public information officer.

Tisdale could not say how many positions are open.

The department is hosting a lateral hire testing date on Oct. 29. Questions can be directed to the Professional Standards and Integrity Office at 731-425-8416.

The department hopes to have the officers on board by early next year.
