Union City police investigate attempted armed robbery
UNION CITY, Tenn. — Police are looking for three men involved in an attempted armed robbery this weekend outside a Union City home.
Officers responded just after 9 p.m. Saturday to the report of an attempted armed robbery near the intersection of East College and Greenwood streets, according to a report from the Union City Police Department.
A woman and her teenage daughter told police the mother had gone outside to her car when she was confronted by three men, two with their faces covered and one of whom was armed with a handgun, according to the report.
She told police they demanded money and then pushed her to the ground when she told them she didn’t have any.
The daughter told officers she heard her mother scream and then went outside where she saw her on the ground and the three men running away. She told police she had seen the man whose face wasn’t covered in the area before but didn’t know who he was.
