15th annual conference offers info for aging, disabled
JACKSON, Tenn. — More than 200 people came together Tuesday in west Jackson for an event organized to address issues the aging and disabled population may face along with those caring for them.
The 15th annual Facing Future Choices Conference provided people the chance to talk with attorneys and vendors about difficult questions for which they may not otherwise know where to turn for answers.
“What happens if I have to go to a nursing home? Do they take my stuff? Do they take my house? Do they take my IRA? Do they take my interest? People have no idea what will happen,” event organizer Anita Roark said.
One of the main messages of the conference was to ensure residents who need assistance that they’re not alone.
