Milan police taking donations for Winter Coat Drive
MILAN, Tenn. — With fall weather on the horizon, a Milan police dispatcher had the idea to collect winter coats for school kids in need.
The Milan Police Department is hosting its first Winter Coat Drive, hoping to collect 40 coats for students in Milan schools. Anyone wanting to make a monetary donation or give a coat can drop it off in the lobby of the police department.
Parents whose kids may need a coat can apply any time at the station.
“Lot of times we take for granted the things that we have, and sometimes the simple necessities like food and a coat is overlooked,” Milan Police Chief Bobby Sellers said.
Applications must be turned in by Nov. 15.
