New STEM program set to launch in Crockett County

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — A new science, technology, engineering and math — better known as STEM — program will soon be launched in West Tennessee.

stem-hubJazzii Anderson of the Jazzii A. Foundation has started an after-school program for youth in Crockett County.

Anderson says this will be the first-ever STEM after-school program in a rural area.

MIG Steel Fabrication presented a $5,000 check to Anderson to kick start the program.

“We wanted to be able to have three things in place with this program,” Anderson said. “We wanted to make it affordable, we wanted to make it accessible and we wanted to make it available.”

Anderson says she hopes to start the program in January after kids get back to school from winter break.
