Three arrested in October fatal shooting in Milan

MILAN, Tenn. — Three men have been arrested and charged in connection with an October shooting that killed one and injured another.

Milan Police Chief Bobby Sellers says Lillo Jamar Harrell, 29, and Uel Pearson, 34, both of Milan, have each been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the shooting death of 22-year-old Rontavious McKinley.

The shooting took place Oct. 11 on Patton Street.

Both men also have been charged with one count each of attempted first-degree murder on accusations of shooting and injuring 18-year-old Sharonda Simmons, according to a release from Chief Sellers.

The release states Lawrence Curtis Douglas, 25, of Milan has been charged with criminal responsibility for murder, criminal responsibility for attempted murder and accessory after the fact.

The investigation is ongoing.

Harrell and Pearson both are being held in lieu of $1.5 million bond each. They are scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Nov. 9.

Douglas is being held in lieu of $90,000 bond and is also set to appear in court at 9 a.m. Nov. 9.
