Dry weather restricts burning permits
Weather Update: 9:30 PM Saturday
It’s has been a warm and comfortable afternoon across the area! This is quite the change than the 80s we’ve seen the last few weekends. The fall-like weather has arrived. Current temps are in the mid and upper 50s and it’ll be a cool and crisp night.
Daylight Saving Time ENDS tonight! We get an extra hour of sleep so don’t forget to chance your clocks back 1 hour before you head to bed tonight! It’ll be nice to enjoy the extra hour before the Sunday chores or even chruch!
Tonight will be refreshingly cool and crisp. You’ll probably want to grab the jacket, especially after sunset. Temperatures look to fall into the 40s by the coolest point of the night, some areas could see the upper 30s again tomorrow morning.
You may want to keep the jacket or sweater handy heading out to church but you won’t necessarily need it by the afternoon. It’ll be another fall day for our Sunday with afternoon highs reaching back into the upper 60s to mid 70s.
The Forestry Department of Tennessee has stopped issuing burn permits for the state because of the drought conditions that are in place. Now, only a few counties out east are under a burn ban, so you can still burn bonfires in your fire pits but you cannot burn in your yard, legally without a permit and those will be stopped until the dry conditions improve.
With that said, there is a minimal chance for rain on Tuesday as a weak cold front starts to approach the area. This could bring hit or miss showers on Tuesday so I’d keep the umbrella in the back seat of the car just in case. Not every will get the rain and it isn’t expected to be substantial either. So it won’t bring a lot of relief to West Tennessee.
This week we are looking at the mix of sun and clouds to continue and temperatures to be comfortable and in the upper 60s to mid 70s. It’ll be a nice and seasonal, comfortable week. We can finally start to pull out our nice fall clothing and it’ll be useful this week!
