Elementary school in Savannah holds mock election

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — A local elementary school is getting into the voting spirit by holding its very own mock election.

elementary-mock-electionEast Hardin Elementary School in Savannah turned its front lobby into a pretend polling place Monday where students could cast ballots.

Students went all out putting up decorations. Two mock candidates representing Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump even gave speeches.

They tried to make the process as realistic as possible, making students register and giving them registration cards.

“You gotta go inside a booth and use a computer and push a button and walk out and get a sticker,” fifth grader Hunter Ray said.

The school says they already know the results but won’t announce the winner until Election Day.
