West Tenn. votes ‘yes’ on alcohol referendums
JACKSON, Tenn. — Voters in several West Tennessee cities had the opportunity this election to vote on alcohol referendums, and all of the measures passed.
Residents of Henderson approved both liquor by the drink and package stores, according to final but unofficial results.
Voters approved liquor by the drink by a vote of 714 to 652. They voted in package stores 741 votes to 633 votes.
In Humboldt, voters approve wine in grocery stores by a vote of 61 percent to 39 percent.
Voters in Benton County also approved wine in grocery stores by a vote of 69 percent in favor and 31 percent against.
Bolivar residents also approved their city’s wine referendum by a vote of 74 percent to 26 percent.
In Carroll County, McKenzie voters also approved a liquor-by-the-drink referendum with a vote of 58 percent to 42 percent.
