Get ready to indulge, because it’s National Vanilla Cupcake Day!

According to nationalcalendarday.com, cupcakes date back to 1796 when a recipe notation in “American Cookery” said to bake a cake in a small cup, but the actual term “cupcake” wasn’t used until 1828.

We stopped by HaliHannigan’s Cupcakery in south Jackson to check out their vanilla cupcakes.
